During today's press conference, Andrzej Sapkowski announced the release date of his new book from the "Witcher" series.
The book will be released in Poland on December 1, 2024. There is currently no information regarding release dates in other countries. The title of the new book is also unknown. The author states that he wouldn’t keep the title a secret if he could, but he cannot share it at the moment.
“Wiedźminlandia: You mentioned that you read a lot. I'm curious, do you often return to your works, or as a writer, after you've finished them, do you not feel the desire to revisit them? In this context, I’d like to ask, when you were writing the new book about "Witcher," did you feel the need to return to the saga, re-read it again, or did you rely more on your notes? And could you at least share the title of the last book? Because a year ago, you mentioned you were afraid someone might steal your idea. By the time it’s all over, perhaps they won’t make it.
The website Redanian Intelligence confirms that December 1 is indeed the date. The magazine Nowa Fantastyka will publish the first chapter of the book in its upcoming issue on November 22. It was in this magazine that Sapkowski first published the initial story about "Witcher."
The international launch of the book is expected in early 2025. This largely depends on how far the translators have progressed by that time and whether they have received the text at all before the official release. Previously, Sapkowski confirmed that the book will be separate from the main saga and will tell stories about Geralt.
