Following a traditional wave of teasers, OPPO has introduced its flagship models, the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. These smartphones feature an exceptional camera and a photo button reminiscent of the iPhone 16 Pro.
The new OPPO devices are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, come with Hasselblad cameras, and offer IP68/69 protection. Both models support 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Find X8 series also supports the OPPO Mag accessory ecosystem, although it requires a special additional case. OPPO Mag accessories include an ultra-slim 80W power bank with a capacity of 20,000 mAh and a 50W wireless charger with a cooling fan.
OPPO also showcased several new features of the Color OS 15 software, such as shadow and reflection removal. A simple upward gesture captures photos without blurriness instead of using the shot mode. The company took the opportunity to compare this feature with the background blur of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Other notable camera features include high-quality Live Photos, a soft lighting portrait mode, and new styles.
OPPO Find X8 Pro
The Find X8 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch OLED display with micro-curvatures, a resolution of 2780 x 1264, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The phone is powered by a 5910 mAh battery.
The OPPO Find X8 Pro features two periscope cameras: a 50 MP camera with 3x zoom (f/2.6) and a 50 MP camera with 6x zoom (f/4.3). Its main camera also has 50 MP (f/1.6), and there’s a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens (120 degrees). For selfies and video calls, there is a 32 MP camera.
The new OPPO features a camera shutter button styled after the iPhone 16 Pro. It supports both pressing and swipe gestures for zooming. The Find X8 Pro is effectively the first Android phone with such a multifunctional key.
OPPO Find X8
The standard Find X8 is also equipped with the Dimensity 9400, has a slightly smaller 6.59-inch OLED display (2760 x 1256, 120 Hz, 4500 nits), and a 5630 mAh battery. It is thinner and lighter at 7.85 mm and 193 g.
The OPPO Find X8 features a 50 MP main camera (f/1.8), a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens (120 degrees), and a 50 MP periscope camera with 3x zoom (f/2.6). OPPO claims that this is the world's first camera with an “inverted” periscope—this innovation helps reduce the size of the module by 33%. The selfie camera is also 32 MP.
The launch of the OPPO Find X8 series has occurred in China, but the company has confirmed that the phones will be available in global markets "soon." The Oppo Find X8 will be offered in Starfield Black, Floating Light White, Chasing Wind Blue, and Bubble Pink. The price starts at $590 for the 12/256 GB version and $700 for the 16/512 GB version. The Find X8 Pro is available in Hoshino Black, Cloud White, and Sky Blue, priced at $745 for the 12/256 GB version and $955 for the 16 GB and 1 TB variant.
