The presentation of the OnePlus 13 smartphone is set for October 31. A week prior to this event, the company shared official information regarding the cameras of the upcoming device. While the design will be similar to its predecessor and the phone will feature a triple camera on the back, all three modules will receive significant upgrades.
The primary 50-megapixel module, Sony LYT-808, will be accompanied by two additional 50-megapixel telephoto and ultra-wide modules. In designing the telephoto module, engineers opted for a dual-prism solution instead of the traditional periscope design. This approach is more compact, making it easier to incorporate into a slim chassis.
The camera system of the OnePlus 13 has once again been developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. Interestingly, the telephoto module featuring 3x optical zoom will have a sensor that is 33% smaller than its predecessor, measuring 1/1.95 inches diagonally. The front camera will sport a circular aperture of f/2.6 instead of a rectangular one, enhancing light capture.
The company has shared photographs taken with the OnePlus 13 camera on its Weibo page to showcase the image quality.
Additionally, the company revealed more specifications of the OnePlus 13. The device will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offer up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and storage based on the UFS 4.0 standard with a capacity of up to 1 TB.
