Not now, Intel! Processor maker launches poll on "favorite computer era" in the midst of massive IT disruption

While the whole world is trying to overcome the consequences of the crash caused by an error in the CrowdStrike antivirus update, Intel launches a poll about users' favorite computer era.

On the official British page of the processor manufacturer on Twitter (X), a publication with a question about users' favorite computer era was released. The options include: 1990, 2000, 2010, and the current years.

Everything would have been fine, but it was launched today after lunch - right in the midst of a massive crash due to the CrowdStrike update (and has not been deleted so far). In the comments, readers are already competing in wit: one wrote "definitely not 2024" , while another suggested "crowdstrike era".

Probably, the publication was planned in advance, or perhaps the Intel social media managers decided to attract attention in a timely manner. Currently, the option of the 2020s is leading in the responses.

Due to the CrowdStrike crash today, IT systems around the world were affected (including Ukraine, where users reported issues with monobank services, Nova Poshta and interruptions in the Vodafone network). Currently, about 1100 flights have been canceled worldwide, and CNN reports on collapses in airports. Also, some train stations, banks, television, and hospitals are not working, in the U.S. there are reports of disruptions in emergency services and 911.

Thanks, your opinion accepted.
