Geely has unveiled its new budget-friendly urban electric vehicle, the Geome Xingyuan. The latest model from Geely aims to compete with affordable electric cars like the BYD Dolphin.
The Xingyuan showcases a design that aligns with Geome's branding aesthetic. Its oval front end and rear lights contribute to a minimalist look, which Geely claims is perfect for city travel. In a partnership with Haagen-Dazs, the choice of exterior colors draws inspiration from ice cream. Available options include Vanilla Beige, Basil Green, Berry Powder, Milk White, Mousse Silver, Truffle Gray, and Sea Salt Blue. Furthermore, as part of the same collaboration, Geely intends to attract customers by offering ice cream during test drives.
The electric vehicle measures 4135 mm in length, 1805 mm in width, and 1570 mm in height, making it slightly larger than the BYD Dolphin (4125x1770x1570 mm). This new model will come with battery options from CATL, offering capacities of 30.12 kWh or 40.16 kWh, with a driving range of up to 310 km or 410 km, respectively, according to the CLTC standard.
Inside the Geome Xingyuan, there is a suspended infotainment system display in the center, along with an additional driver display. The infotainment system runs on Flyme Auto OS, which provides support for gaming and other entertainment features.
With the second-row seats folded down, the new budget electric vehicle from Geely offers up to 1320 liters of cargo space. It also features an additional 70-liter trunk.
The urban electric car, Geely Geome Xingyuan, is set to go on sale in the third quarter of this year. While the company has yet to announce official prices, informed sources suggest that this model will be available in China starting at around 80,000 yuan, equivalent to approximately $11,200. In comparison, the starting price for the competing BYD Dolphin is around $13,900.
