During the 2024 Chery Global Innovation Conference, the company unveiled the prototype of its flying car called the Land and Air Vehicle. Chery reported that the prototype is still under development but has already successfully completed a test flight covering approximately 80 km.
The Land and Air Vehicle is a three-body hybrid flying car consisting of three components: an aircraft, an intelligent cockpit, and an intelligent chassis. These elements are integrated into a single vehicle that lacks both a steering wheel and an accelerator pedal.
According to Chery, the flying car can switch between autonomous flight mode and autonomous ground driving mode, designed for short-distance trips in urban areas to alleviate traffic congestion. In flight mode, it can take off and land vertically.
Preliminary information indicates that Chery's flying car is built on the scalable architecture of the Chery S2ma intelligent Mars and is designed to transport two passengers. The flying height is less than 1000 meters, with a maximum flight speed reaching 120 km/h and a flight duration of about 40 minutes.
