The pedal pad can get stuck and jam the pedal to the max.
Tesla is recalling 3,878 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023 to April 4, 2024. About it writes The Verge with reference to the report of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States.
The malfunction is due to a "problem during assembly." As a result, the pedal pad can move out, get stuck and jam the pedal to the maximum. The brake will still work, however.
Essentially, Tesla is recalling every Cybertruck delivered to customers since November 2023, the publication wrote. The company added that as of April 15, 2024, there is no data on "accidents, injuries or deaths" related to the pedal malfunction.
The manufacturer will replace the pedals on recalled electric cars free of charge. All cars manufactured after April 17, 2024 will also have the defect fixed.
Tesla started sending the Cybertruck to customers on November 30, 2023. The first cars were received by those who pre-ordered back in 2019. Prices for the electric vehicle start at $60,990.
