For many years, Rivian has promised to create a more compact and affordable electric SUV. And that day is coming soon. The company will unveil the R2 on March 7, 2024 during a live stream in Laguna Beach, California, at 20:00 Kiev time.

Prior to the official presentation, some information about the Rivian R2 electric car appeared online. It was possible to find out by analyzing the company's website code. It is expected that the 5-seater electric SUV will be able to drive about 330 miles (around 530 km) without recharging. It will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds.

It is also reported about support for NACS and CCS charging stations, "electrically operated rear glass," and a front trunk, which is large enough to store the SUV mounting system when not in use. The wheelbase is 115.6 inches (2936 mm), the length of the car is 4714 mm, the width is 1905 mm (2144 mm including mirrors), and the height is 1699 mm.
The Rivian R2 electric car is expected to go on sale from 2026. Its price will start at $47,000.
