DJI is entering the market of portable power stations in the US and Europe with the release of Power 1000 and Power 500, designed for both home use and field work.
The devices can be used to power small household appliances, charge laptops, or even drones, and can be combined with solar panels.
The 13-kilogram Power 1000 has a capacity of 1024 Wh and can output up to 2200 W - enough to run a household microwave for about 1.3 hours, or a car fridge for 19 hours, or, for example, charge a drone up to 12 times. The 7.3 kg Power 500 has a capacity of 512 Wh and an output power of 1000 W for half the price ($500).
The larger version supports fast charging at 1200 W or standard charging at 600 W (540 W and 270 W for the smaller version). Both can be charged to 100% capacity in 70 minutes or to 80% in 50 minutes. Along with standard power plugs, both have a pair of USB-C PD output ports that support charging at 140 W/100 W for Power 1000/Power 500 - enough for most laptops.
The market is already saturated with such devices (Jackery, Bluetti, Anker, and others), but DJI considers their devices to be the ideal way to charge their drones and other products. Released in China in December, they were already available in the US on Amazon and in other countries through the grey market.
