Recently, the publication Fortune reported that Elon Musk plans to launch the X Twitter social network as a video service on smart TVs. Researcher Nima Owji has published a video demonstrating the interface of the future application on X.
The video shows the login screen, home page, search panel, and profile page. The web application can be implemented on almost any TV.
In early March, it was reported that company X plans to launch an application for smart TVs that would work as a service similar to YouTube. A source in the company claimed that the service would allow viewing "long videos on a big screen." It was suggested that the application could appear on Amazon and Samsung TVs a few days after the announcement, but obviously this did not happen.
In January 2024, in X's blog, they declared their function as a video service and listed many related facts, including:
"X is now a platform that is primarily focused on video: people watch video in 8 out of 10 user sessions... We have included the ability to upload long videos. In December alone, people watched videos with a total duration of 130 years for 30 minutes or more."
Elon Musk actively encourages the use of X as a video platform. There are many views on the network for videos such as Tucker Carlson's interview with Putin and videos from popular YouTuber Mr. Beast.
