Motorola has unveiled new foldable smartphones, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra and Razr 50 models, for the year 2024. These models offer a variety of artificial intelligence features, with the Ultra version boasting the industry's largest external display.

Razr 50

The Motorola Razr 50 smartphone features a 6.9-inch foldable main pOLED display with FHD+ resolution (2640×1080 pixels), a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The external pOLED display has a 3.6-inch diagonal, a resolution of 1056×1066 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, and a peak brightness of 1700 nits.

The device is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, 8 or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 256 or 512GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The new smartphone comes with a 4200mAh battery and supports wired charging up to 30W and wireless charging up to 15W.

The main camera on the external side of the device features a 50-megapixel main module with OIS and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide module with macro support. The front camera in the round cutout on the main display is 32 megapixels.

Razr 50 Ultra

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra model also features a 6.9-inch main pOLED display with a resolution of 2640×1080 pixels, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. However, the maximum refresh rate has been increased to 165Hz. The external display is the largest in the industry, with a pOLED panel measuring 4 inches diagonally and a resolution of 1272×1080 pixels. In this case, the refresh rate has been increased to 165Hz, and the peak brightness to 2400 nits.

The hardware platform significantly differs from the base model. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra version offers a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The battery capacity has been slightly reduced to 4000mAh. However, the wired charging power has increased to 45W, and in addition to the 15W wireless charging, reverse charging at 5W is also available. A more powerful charger is included in the package.

The main 50-megapixel camera module with OIS is supplemented by a 50-megapixel telephoto module with 2x optical zoom. The front camera is also 32 megapixels.

The cameras of the new devices offer a range of AI-based features, including:

  • Photo Enhancement Engine: Uses AI to simultaneously apply settings from multiple shooting modes in one. The mechanism precisely adjusts the image for optimal detail, clarity, highlights, shadows, colors, and bokeh effect.
  • Adaptive stabilization: Determines the speed of movement during shooting and dynamically adjusts the stabilization level for the best results. Suitable for shooting videos while running or biking.
  • Action Shot: Automatically increases and adjusts shutter speed and lighting depending on different lighting conditions, allowing for quality photos with jumps or sporting activities.
  • Long exposure for capturing artistic light trails or smooth waterfalls with a single touch.
  • Super zoom makes photos even deeper, enhancing results using a machine learning algorithm to capture details even at a distance.

Sales of the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra and Motorola Razr 50 in Ukraine will start in early August 2024.
