Sony has announced a limited edition collection of the PlayStation 5 Pro to celebrate the brand's 30th anniversary, and preorders in certain countries sold out in mere minutes—some are already reselling the consoles on alternative marketplaces at significantly increased prices.
Initially, the limited edition PlayStation 5 Pro was available for preorder through PlayStation Direct across the UK and the Eurozone, priced at £959.99 / €1099.99 (a total of 12,300 limited consoles in retro colors were made available worldwide).
According to IGN, the PS5 Pro from the 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle sold out within minutes, with scalpers on eBay now selling the consoles for between £4,000 and £10,000 ($5,000-13,000).
In fact, these sellers do not have the consoles on hand—they are reselling their preorders. Simultaneously, eBay listings have started popping up warning potential buyers against offers from scalpers.
The anniversary PS5 Slim, which also quickly sold out on Sony's website, was priced at $500; however, scalpers are now asking for at least $1,500, Kotaku notes.
It is expected that preorders for the PlayStation 5 Pro in Ukraine will likely open on October 10 (at least that date is mentioned on the websites of some official retailers), while shipping to customers is expected to begin on November 10, according to our sources (official global sales will start three days earlier).
Regarding the anniversary version of the PS5 Pro, it is unlikely to be available in Ukraine (according to the PlayStation Ukraine community), though a limited edition of the PlayStation 5 Slim and accessories may be available. Here are the preliminary prices:
