A Ukrainian developer has created a remake of the cult game Space Invaders called Russian Invaders. In it, you play as an F-16 pilot shooting down Russian drones and missiles.
The idea for the game was shared by the developer in a post on the DOU forum.
Creation Idea
The developer was inspired to create the project by daily statistics from the Ukrainian Air Force and the childhood game Space Invaders.
"The combination of a space shooter with infographics from our armed forces resulted in this," the developer noted.
The developer also mentioned that the change in pricing policy in the Unity community pushed him to seek alternative engines.
"Usually as an animator, my work is done in Spine and Unity. My dedication to open source led me to consider Godot Engine as the main development platform," the developer summarized.
Gameplay
Currently, the game has 10 levels of difficulty. With each level, the number of enemies increases and their speed grows.
One of the main goals of the project is to draw attention to helping Ukraine, so players will see a link to United24.
You can play in the browser by clicking this link (preferably Chrome/Firefox).
