Currently in the "System Requirements" section for games on the Steam service, there are two system configurations listed. One of them outlines the "Minimum" system requirements necessary to run the game. Although, in such cases, high performance or image quality should not be expected.
There is also a category of "Recommended". Configurations that meet these requirements are already capable of providing a comfortable gameplay. However, it seems that this is no longer enough, and Steam is adding a new category of system requirements - Ultra. Systems that meet these requirements should provide the highest performance and the best image quality in games.
Apparently, Valve has just started offering developers to fill in a new category of system requirements. Right now, it is absent for most games. However, it can already be seen on the Portal with RTX free expansion page for the game Portal. In this case, the differences between Ultra requirements and "Recommended" are significantly more substantial than between "Recommended" and "Minimum".
It can be expected that soon, Ultra level system requirements will appear for other games in the Steam catalog.
