The new Offline Backup feature in Spotify compiles recently played songs and tracks from the queue into a separate playlist during internet outages, which can then be filtered by artist and genre.
Previously, the offline playlist in Spotify had to be created manually while a data connection was available. Offline Backup offers an alternative for instances when the internet suddenly drops (particularly relevant for Ukraine in the context of blackouts).
The Offline Backup playlist will automatically appear on Spotify's home page when the device goes offline. However, users must enable offline listening in the settings and listen to at least five songs before disconnection.
As expected, this feature is only available to premium subscribers of Spotify.
Once the offline playlist is created, it can be filtered and sorted by artist, mood, and genre, and can also be saved to the library for use at any time, not just when offline.
