Recently, PS5 owners noticed an odd update that essentially replaced game backgrounds with annoying advertisements — in addition to new game promotions, it showcased sales and discounts that had long expired.
So it turns out that the recent PS5 UI update that let you disable all the advertisements on the dashboard was too good to be true. Now EVERY SINGLE GAME on your homescreen shows you an advertisement in the background with no way to remove them lol https://t.co/Nts6eCq8Ebpic.twitter.com/29p56mYn34

The changes to PS5, which initially seemed routine, have faced significant backlash on social media, but Sony explained that it was merely a "technical glitch" and promised to provide a fix soon (some players report that it has actually been released).
However, another issue quickly arose — just hours after resolving the advertisement bug, users from various countries began reporting problems with PSN (including issues with authorization, video playback, content purchases, and game launches).
Richard Lawler from The Verge notes that launching games returns the error PS5 WS-116522-7, and Sony's related webpage indicates that "system software update failed."
On the official PSN page, the issue has been confirmed and they promised to deliver fixes soon.
