Players haven't had much time to thoroughly explore the original version of the Silent Hill 2 remake, but modders have already begun their work, which have introduced the main character from GTA: San Andreas, Carl Johnson, into the game.

However, if you expect CJ's face to be richly detailed, the mod may disappoint you — his features are somewhat blurred here, and his body emanates a strange sheen.

The other mods we mentioned yesterday allow players to remove the fog from the game and add a bit of sunlight, as well as play the remake as Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4, or replace James Sunderland with his classic version from the 2001 game.

As a reminder, the Silent Hill 2 remake has been available on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) since October 8, while owners of enhanced versions gained access to the game two days earlier.

Currently, the user rating of the Silent Hill 2 remake on Metacritic is 9.2 for PS5 and 8.6 for PC (at the time of this news publication) — one of the highest among releases in 2024 (with Astrobot and Stellar Blade currently leading). Critics have also highly praised the remake, noting that the developers have masterfully recreated the atmosphere of the original game while staying true to the source material.
