The Naval Intelligence Group of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that as a result of a special operation, the enemy missile boat "Ivanovets" was destroyed. This can be considered a revenge for the Ukrainian corvette "Ternopil", captured by Russian troops on March 20, 2014 during the occupation of Crimea, and then turned into a floating target for sinking by an anti-ship cruise missile "Moskit" launched from the "Ivanovets".
On the night of January 31 to February 1, 2024, the operation was carried out by soldiers of the special forces unit Group 13 of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The enemy ship was located in the raid of Lake Donuzlav in temporarily occupied Crimea.
As a result of several direct hits on the hull, the Russian ship received damage incompatible with further movement - the "Ivanovets" listed aft and sank. The estimated cost of the ship lost by the aggressor state is approximately $60-70 million.
According to preliminary information, the search and rescue operation by Russian occupiers in Donuzlav was unsuccessful. However, the event allowed to strike off another ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
UPD:Ukrainian Navy about the meeting of the missile boat "Ivanovets" with the cruiser "Moskva":
This is a significant loss, given that there are only three such project 1241.1 boats in the composition of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and armament, including anti-ship missiles of the "Moskit" type with a range of up to 130 km.
Search and rescue operations are currently underway. Considering the standard crew of 40 sailors, the consequences of the reduction in the Russian ship's fleet are also significant.
UPD2: Kirill Budanov reported that the boat was attacked by six sea drones MAGURA V5. And promised more attacks like this.
Ukraine's spy boss, Lt. Gen. Kyrulo Budanov, told me that the Ivanovets was hit with six MAGURA V5 sea drones that sent it to the bottom of the Black Sea.
He vows more such attacks and has a message for Moscow.
"Get ready," he said.https://t.co/ujrWHTQo0l— Howard Altman (@haltman) February 1, 2024
