At first glance, the main photo may appear to depict a mobile phone store. However, it is actually the home of Spanish Nokia enthusiast, Wences Palau Fernández. He officially holds the record for the largest collection of mobile phones, boasting 3,615 unique models.

His collection, housed in his residence in Barcelona, has surpassed the previous record of 3,456 models set by Andrei Bilbie Argentis (Romania) in 2023.

The journey to this world record has been long, starting back in 1999 when Wences received a gray Nokia 3210 as a Christmas gift. Subsequently, in 2008, he began collecting Nokia phones with the aim of acquiring all the models he couldn't afford earlier. His collection grew, eventually taking over an entire room.

By 2018, Wences Palau Fernández had gathered over 700 different Nokia models and began to collect phones from other brands, as well as those that were not commercially available. Today, his collection features phones from Siemens, NEC, Motorola, Blackberry, Samsung, HTC, Apple, and many others.

Some of his devices are specially made limited editions, including the Nokia 3220 Star Wars Ep III collection. He owns versions featuring Yoda, Starfighter, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Cyborg, and Padawan from this collection.

Wences has documented his journey towards building this record-breaking collection on his website Nokia Project Dream.

“My collection includes very exclusive and hard-to-find models. My current collection is the result of great perseverance and financial commitment,” states the collector on his site.

Throughout its existence, Nokia has produced just over 1,000 phone models, and Wences's collection features over 700 different models, along with items and accessories. He describes his collection as a sort of museum.

Wences considers his collection incomplete and continues to expand it “whenever possible.” However, he has decided to present it to the world now rather than wait several more years to find all the models.
