Each month, Russia manufactures between 40 and 60 ballistic missiles and 90 to 120 long-range cruise missiles, in addition to approximately 500 Shahed drones—this estimate is provided by Forbes Ukraine, citing sources from intelligence agencies.
The missile production rates in Russia amount to 132-171 units per month (a similar quantity to what was launched during the record strike on August 26). According to the publication's estimate, this costs around $1.1 billion (whereas drone production is estimated at about $100 million).
Ballistic Missiles
- Iskander-M (range up to 500 km and warhead 480-700 kg) — 130 units in stock and 30-40 new missiles produced monthly.
- KN-23 (range up to 690 km and warhead 500 kg in the version for up to 450 km, likely less at maximum range) — approximately 60 missiles received from North Korea.
- Kh-47M2 Kinzhal (range 1500-2000 km and payload of 480 kg) — 55 units in stock and 2-6 new missiles each month.
Cruise Missiles and Drones
- X-101 (range 2500-2800 km and carrying 450 kg warhead) — 190 units in stock and 40-50 new missiles produced monthly. This missile was used to attack the Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv on July 8.
- Shahed-136 (carries a 50 kg warhead and has recently been flying at altitudes above 1 km) — 200 units in stock and around 500 new units monthly.
- Kalibr (range 1500-2000 km and warhead 450 kg) — 350 in stock and 30-40 new units produced monthly.
- Iskander-K (range 2500 km and 450 kg warhead) — 180 in stock and 10-15 new missiles each month.
- Onyx (capable of speeds exceeding 2400 km/h and supersonic) — 500 in stock and up to 10 new units monthly, primarily used for strikes in Odesa.
