It seems that Mark Zuckerberg is feeling the heat from Elon Musk's fame, who garnered millions of views during his Diablo 4 game stream (although it didn't go perfectly there either).

In a recent interview (via Dexerto), the CEO of Meta confessed that he dreams of starting his own Twitch channel for gaming streams — particularly focusing on his favorite game, Civilization, which he has played for over a thousand hours.

“The other day my wife looked at my Steam account and said, ‘What?! You’ve played this for over a thousand hours?’” Zuckerberg remarked.

Mark adds that he is close to achieving grandmaster status in Civilization and doubts that anyone in the world can defeat him. He plans to stream on Twitch one day to prove it.

“I think at some point I need to do a Twitch stream where I play against someone. I’m pretty sure I’m close to grandmaster status, and I would be surprised if anyone in the world could beat me.”

Zuckerberg has been playing Civilization since high school and shared that it inspired him to become an engineer. He was also playing the strategy game at the time he received his acceptance email from Harvard.

“How many of you can accurately recall where you were and what you were doing when you got the acceptance email from Harvard? I was playing the video game Civilization,” he said.

Civilization was developed in 1991 by Sid Meier and Bruce Shelley and has since expanded into a whole series. In the games, you act as the leader of a specific civilization (nation) and guide it from the Stone Age to the Space Age: founding and developing cities, advancing science and technology, culture, religions, diplomatic relations, and more.

So far, six installments of the game have been released, with the seventh set to debut on February 11, 2025 — potentially, this release may motivate Zuckerberg to start streaming.
