For those who travel infrequently and mainly game at home, a screen and keyboard aren't always necessary — there are specialized devices that perform much better. The manufacturer Minisforum, known primarily for its mini PCs, seems to have developed just the right product — a powerful gaming "laptop" without any "unnecessary" components.

Minisforum does resemble a laptop: it is flat, wide, and narrow, featuring the characteristic exterior elements of a laptop. Internally, it is also, in fact, a laptop — just take a look at the cooling system.

This week, the manufacturer has opened pre-orders for the AtomMan G7 Ti and G7 Ti SE. The computers are equipped with powerful laptop processors Intel Core i9-14900HX and Core i7-14650HX, along with a mobile RTX 4070 graphics card.

The desktop also includes Command Center software, which features controls for RGB lighting, switches between office and gaming modes, displays temperature, and allows management of cooling. The office and gaming modes operate at 140 W (with a fan speed of 2700 RPM) and 180 W (with 4400 RPM), respectively, and can also be toggled using a button on the front panel.

In terms of connectivity, the AtomMan G7 Ti includes Wi-Fi 7, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and BT 5.4 (BE200), as well as one HDMI 2.1 port and USB4, plus three USB Type A ports. The PC is powered by a bundled 19V, 280W adapter.

One drawback is that it does not come with memory included (although this may be seen as an advantage for some). You can install an NVMe M.2 PCIe 4.0 drive and up to 96 GB of DR5-5600 RAM in dual-channel mode in the available two slots. And yes, this "laptop" does not have a battery, which could significantly reduce its appeal.

Interestingly, the official website does not currently list a price, only offering a $50 discount voucher. Additionally, there is not yet a button or other means to order these PCs. The previous model, which is considerably thicker than the AtomMan G7 PT with an AMD processor, starts at $999.
