Obbe Vermeij continues to delight gamers with insights about GTA 6.
The development of Grand Theft Auto VI has been ongoing for several years now. During this time, Rockstar has undergone some changes, including the loss of several prominent staff members. This has raised concerns among fans regarding the future of the project.
However, the situation is not as severe as it may initially seem. Obbe Vermeij, a former Rockstar employee, reported that approximately 80% of the team that worked on GTA 4 is still employed at Rockstar North, working on the new installment of the franchise.
80% of the people I worked with on gta4 still work at R*N.

Among the key figures who remain with Rockstar is Aaron Garbut, the art director who has been with the GTA series since its third installment. Sam Houser, one of the studio's founders, is also involved in the development of GTA 6.
Rob Nelson, who previously led the development of Red Dead Redemption 2, has been appointed as the project leader. It’s worth noting that this team has created well-known titles such as Max Payne 3 and the original Red Dead Redemption (which will soon be available on PC, by the way).
Despite some key figures, such as Leslie Benzies, Dan Houser, and Michael Ancel, having left the Grand Theft Auto development team, a significant portion of experienced professionals continue to work on the beloved franchise of millions of players. Given the team's expertise and the thrilling debut trailer showcased last year, fans of the series have every reason to hope that the upcoming installment of this iconic video game series will meet their expectations.
Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 in 2025. A new game trailer is expected to be revealed by the end of 2024.
