Sony Santa Monica Studio, known for the God of War series, is developing a new game that will likely not be related to the adventures of Kratos.
Glauco Longhi, the character development lead at the studio, shared this news on his LinkedIn page. A ResetEra forum user with the username Angie pointed out Longhi's post, where he confirmed the ongoing work on a new game.
"Sony Santa Monica invited me to return as the character development lead. I will oversee the entire character creation process for their new intellectual property. I'm excited to work with the team again and to develop characters in video games together," Longhi wrote on LinkedIn.
Recently, Santa Monica has been actively looking for new employees. Job openings for a lead technical artist in procedural generation, lead tools programmer, and senior character artist have appeared on the studio's official website and LinkedIn page. The job descriptions indicate that new hires are needed "for the development of a new unannounced project."

Santa Monica Studio is an American video game development studio based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1999, it is best known for the God of War series, which has received numerous awards and critical acclaim. The studio is owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment and plays a key role in creating exclusive games for PlayStation consoles.
As a reminder, God of War Ragnarök will soon be available on PC. The release date for the PC version is set for September 19. Santa Monica Studio unveiled a new trailer showcasing features of the computer version. Interestingly, the PC version is launching nearly two years after its debut on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles.
