Gigabyte has released one of the fastest SSDs, the Aorus Gen5 14000, with 3D-TLC NAND flash memory. According to the manufacturer, the Aorus Gen5 14000 solid-state drive has achieved a 99% performance increase compared to PCIe 4.0 SSDs.
The drive is equipped with the latest 12nm Phison PS5026-E26 controller and 232-layer memory. It can provide sequential read speeds of up to 14,500 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 12,700 MB/s. The high speed is helped by the built-in DDR4 cache.
Thanks to the optimization of direct writing, the Aorus Gen5 14000 is expected to demonstrate stability along with high performance. AES-256 encryption and TRIM, SMART, and ECC technologies will ensure data integrity and security.
The SSD supports monitoring in the Gigabyte application, which displays drive parameters in real-time and allows control over the performance, temperature, and stability of the SSD. For optimal utilization of the Aorus Gen5 14000's capabilities, motherboards with PCIe 5.0 support with an M.2 radiator are required. Gigabyte recommends their own X670E Aorus Pro X and Z790 Aorus Master X motherboards.
