A user with the nickname Stasik has now reached the 5960th level on Steam — interestingly, the platform doesn't even have a special badge for this milestone yet.
Levels for accounts on Steam can be earned by playing games and collecting special badges, but they can also be purchased for real money — which is what the user named Stasik did. To achieve the highest level on the platform, he spent a "modest" $500,000 and surpassed the previous record holder, a well-known skin collector named ST4CK, by over 1000 levels.
The affluent player was first noticed by CS2 streamer ohnePixel, who took a detailed look at his inventory filled with countless high-tier CS2 skins, including several AWP Dragon Lores and M4A4 Howls, each worth tens of thousands of dollars.
“This person has an insane amount of money,” said ohnePixel. “He spent over $500,000 to reach this level on Steam. What kind of person are you if you have half a million? And you do this just for fun online?”
The streamer also mentioned that Stasik has approximately a million in total, and the account is registered in the UAE (though this information cannot be verified).
Additionally, Stasik's collection was noted to include several stickers with racist expressions, which could lead to the blocking of such an expensive profile — the previous record holder, ST4CK, was blocked last year but has since had the restrictions lifted.
