Epic Games Store now available on mobile devices: Fortnite returns to iOS and Android

Epic Games has announced that its Epic Games Store is now available for mobile devices running iOS and Android.

The mobile Epic Games Store is available for download on Android devices worldwide. However, for iPhone users, the store can only be downloaded by Apple smartphone owners residing in the EU. Epic also provided instructions on how to install the Epic Games Store on mobile devices, noting that the process is lengthy “due to the deliberately low installation quality offered by Apple and Google,” accompanied by complex settings, prolonged stages, and “fear screens.”

The mobile version of the Epic Games Store is set to be “the first cross-platform game-focused store in history,” expanding its reach beyond macOS and PC to Android and iOS. Mobile developers will receive “the same fair terms” with an 88/12 revenue share distribution.

Additionally, Epic Games reported that the game Fortnite has officially made its return to mobile devices via the Epic Games Store. Besides launching on the mobile version of the Epic Games Store, owners of Android and iOS devices in the EU can access Fortnite through AltStore, a third-party digital store.

This marks the first instance of Fortnite being natively available on mobile devices since Apple and Google removed the free battle royale from the App Store and Google Play in 2020.

Furthermore, Fall Guys and Rocket League Sideswipe are also available for download on Android devices worldwide and on iPhone in the EU through the mobile version of EGS and AltStore in the EU. This is the first time Fall Guys has been accessible on mobile devices since its release in 2020.
