The game Cyberpunk 2077 has been one of the most controversial releases of recent years. Announced in 2012, it was finally launched in 2020 and initially faced numerous bugs. However, CDPR later rectified the situation by releasing Update 2.0 and the DLC Phantom Liberty. The company plans to further raise the bar in the sequel by implementing photorealistic graphics.

Although Cyberpunk 2077 is no longer new, it still boasts impressive visuals. Instead of pursuing photorealism, it employs a slightly different approach to imagery. However, with the addition of ray tracing and various mods, it edges closer to photorealistic standards.

CDPR has posted a new job listing for a senior environment artist. The job description states that this individual will be responsible for delivering high-quality, photorealistic graphics for the Orion project using various tools.

This aligns with previous rumors suggesting that the studio aims for the sequel to be more cinematic. Reports indicate that the game will blend film and gameplay, a trend that is becoming increasingly popular in the industry. Recently, Hellblade 2 showcased the potential of photorealism.

It is also important to note that Project Orion is currently in the concept development stage. Therefore, it is likely that the game will launch on more powerful next-generation hardware, enabling it to deliver photorealistic visuals.

CDPR has also assured fans that they will not repeat the mistakes made with Cyberpunk 2077 in the sequel.
