The company Bethesda has announced that recently five million people played Fallout games in a single day (not specified which one). One million of these players were in the online game Fallout 76, which six years ago was considered doomed due to low attendance. The studio reported this on the evening of April 23.

"Thank you to more than a million of you who joined us in Fallout 76 in a single day...and nearly five million in all Fallout games in one day!"

The TV show caused a surge of interest in the Fallout game series, leading to an increase in the number of players and overloaded mod sites. Some are returning to the games after 9 years, while others are discovering them for the first time (as well as the need to use modifications). With millions of people entering the games, even the popular mod platform Nexus experienced issues with many people trying to access its collection.

Only now has there been accurate statistics on how many people are playing the Fallout game series against the backdrop of the show's success. Prior to this, Steam was the only platform showing the real number of simultaneous players in Fallout 76. The latest SteamDB data shows that just two days ago, the game exceeded the all-time peak with almost 75,000 players. The games are also available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, in Microsoft's Xbox and PC Game Pass subscription programs, and in cloud services.

The number of simultaneous players in Fallout 4 on Steam reached a peak of almost 165,000 earlier this week. The role-playing game will soon receive the long-promised next-gen update, bringing performance improvements, free content, and bug fixes for players on all platforms.

The game Fallout New Vegas, developed by Obsidian, almost reached its launch day peak this week. A few days ago, this beloved fan-favorite game reached 43,000 players on Steam.
