Xiaomi has announced the launch date for its next flagship device. The Xiaomi 15 will feature the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor (not to be confused with the Snapdragon X Elite).
It seems that Qualcomm has renamed the upcoming premium mobile processor from Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which was rumored to launch alongside the Xiaomi 15. Additionally, the current flagship will operate on Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0, built on Android 15 and designed with artificial intelligence in mind.
The phone recently received 3C certification in China. The model number 24129PN74C indicates support for fast charging at 90W, similar to last year's model. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Pro are also expected to be released, likely at a later date.
The Xiaomi 15 is anticipated to feature three camera lenses, including a 50 MP primary OmniVision camera with a large 1/1.3″ sensor and a wide aperture. Sources mention a battery capacity of either 4800 mAh, 4900 mAh, or 6000 mAh. There are also reports of IP69-rated water and dust resistance.
The new flagship processor for Xiaomi, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, will be Qualcomm's first 3 nm chip. The chip promises a significant increase in graphics performance—56% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is also expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, was recently spotted on Geekbench with a base clock speed of 3.53 GHz and a peak clock speed of 4.47 GHz. The device scored 3011 points in single-core testing and 9706 points in multi-core.
According to the company's announcement and the official poster, the Xiaomi 15 will be unveiled on October 23.
