Some Anker and Soundcore devices are being recalled due to a manufacturing defect that could lead to fires. For example, Anker has announced the recall of its Power Bank 321 (PowerCore 5K, A1112) battery. At the same time, its audio brand Soundcore has announced the recall of the portable speaker A3102 Speaker in Black.

Anker notes that the lithium-ion battery in the mentioned power banks may overheat, potentially causing plastic components to melt, smoke, and fire.

The company has started notifying customers via email who may own one of the affected devices. Owners of the mentioned devices can also check the serial numbers (printed on the bottom) themselves to find out if their units are subject to recall: Power Bank 321, A3102 Speaker in Black.

Anker states that the issue only affects a small number of devices manufactured from March to April 2023. Additionally, it is reported that this also applies to the AnkerWork A3302 workplace conference device.

If you own one of these devices, the company recommends immediately discontinuing its use and properly disposing of it at a facility that accepts lithium batteries.

It is worth heeding this advice to avoid negative consequences, as was the case last week in the suburbs of Kiev, when a man suffered burns as a result of a battery explosion.
