BioWare has released new details about Dragon Age: The Veilguard, specifically the complete technical requirements and pre-download schedule for the Xbox Series and PS5 versions of the game.

The developers have published the system requirements for the PC version, which include settings for playing with both ray tracing enabled and disabled.

BioWare also confirmed that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not feature DRMDRM (Digital Rights Management) is a technology designed to protect digital content from unauthorized copying, distribution, and use. (such as Denuvo) on any platform.

For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, the game will offer two modes: quality and performance. The first targets 30 frames per second, while the latter aims for 60.

The technical director of BioWare, Maciej Kurowski, spoke about the enhancements for the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro, which will launch in November:

“Both quality and performance modes will receive hardware improvements, including increased resolution in quality mode at 30 frames per second and performance mode at 60 frames per second,” he stated. Additionally, both modes will feature various enhanced visual settings.

Kurowski also added:

“The BioWare team takes pride in how deeply players will immerse themselves in the magical world of Thedas with improved image quality thanks to Sony's new AI-based upscaler — PSSR. We have enabled ray tracing for ambient occlusion (RTAO) in performance mode at 60 frames per second. Previously, this feature was only available on the base PlayStation 5 in quality mode at 30 frames per second.”

The pre-download for Dragon Age: The Veilguard will begin on October 14 for Xbox Series X/S and on October 29 for PS5. There will be no pre-download available for PC due to the absence of DRM.

As a reminder, the developers recently revealed that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature five difficulty levels.
