The electric vehicle charging station market in Ukraine is actively evolving and showing growth. Amidst the rising demand for electric vehicles, the country is increasingly in need of such devices, and manufacturers are responding diligently.
The electric vehicle boom in Ukraine began around 2016. However, at that time, the charging infrastructure was not well-developed. This area attracted various companies, and as of this year, there are already 10 manufacturers of chargers in the country.
As of 2024, Ukraine has registered approximately 120,000 electric vehicles, with their number increasing by about 4,000 to 5,000 units each month.
Currently, there are around 17,000 installed charging devices (connectors) in Ukraine, and with the rising demand for electric vehicles, the need for charging infrastructure is also growing steadily. The company Octa Energy sells over a thousand AC chargers—both residential and commercial—annually. Meanwhile, Ecofactor manufactures an average of 364 charging stations per year.
At present, the average price of AC charging stations in Ukraine ranges from $500 to $2,100. DC charging stations come at a significantly higher price. Depending on the power rating, their cost can vary from $15,000 to $20,000, with some models priced even higher. Ecofactor offers DC stations with 60-240 kW power at prices between $17,300 and $46,500, while UGV’s units range from $20,000 to $68,800. The price is influenced by the components used: European parts are more expensive, whereas Ecofactor utilizes modules for charging that are independently assembled in Ukraine.
Currently, Ukrainian manufacturers of charging stations are also exporting their products to other countries, including those in the EU.
