Honda is ready to enter the Chinese electric car market with the electric crossover Ye S7 - the first model under the new sub-brand of electric cars Ye. The company has released official images of Ye S7, showcasing the crossover design with a panoramic sunroof. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has disclosed some of its characteristics.
Ye S7 will be based on the fully electric architecture of Honda W. It is expected that the SUV will meet the needs of Chinese consumers, offering two electric motors (from United Automotive Electronic Systems) with a total power of 350 kW (470 hp).
The 2305 kg car will be able to accelerate to a speed of 180 km/h. The electric motors will be powered by triple lithium batteries from CATL, but their capacity, charging speed, and range are not yet reported. The electric car will have a length of 4750 mm, a width of 1930 mm, a height of 1625 mm, and a wheelbase of 2930 mm.
The Ye S7 is set to debut by the end of the year. The car will be manufactured by Dongfeng Honda, a joint venture between Honda and Dongfeng Motor. Honda plans to release six models under the Ye brand by 2027.
