Apple is planning to introduce a new application called Passwords, which will help users manage their authentication information. It is reported that the presentation will take place at the Worldwide Developers Conference next week.

Apple already allows storing passwords on iPhone, iPad, or Vision Pro using iCloud Keychain. The new application will also sync, but with the separation of logins into different categories, such as accounts, Wi-Fi networks, and access keys. At the same time, it is noted that the new application will also provide support for Windows. However, there is currently no mention of support for Android.

It is expected that the new Passwords application will debut in iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15. As Bloomberg notes, Passwords will be able to generate and store passwords, similar to password managers like LastPass and 1Password.

Among other features mentioned are autofill for usernames and passwords, as well as the ability to create authentication codes, such as Google Authenticator.
