Apple will repair the iPhone 14 Plus experiencing a very troubling camera defect. This issue is found in a limited number of devices but was introduced during manufacturing.
Due to the malfunction, the main camera of the Apple iPhone 14 Plus fails to display a preview, making photography quite inconvenient. The company notes that the defect affects only a small percentage of devices, specifically the batch produced between April 10, 2023, and April 28, 2024. It is unclear how many iPhone 14 Plus units were made during this period, but the year-long span seems significant.
Apple has announced a service program to address the defect, offering repairs at no charge. Details of the program can be found on a dedicated page.
“If your iPhone 14 Plus is affected by this issue, please use the serial number verification tool below to check if your device is eligible for this program. If it is, Apple or an authorized Apple service provider will provide the services for free.”
Additionally, Apple briefly explains how to find an authorized service provider and take advantage of the offer. The company emphasizes that “this global Apple program does not extend the standard warranty for the iPhone 14 Plus.” The program will be available for three years from the date of the device's first retail sale.
Apple periodically launches such programs when issues are detected. Previously, this included problems with receivers on iPhone 12 or 12 Pro models and the distortion of sound from AirPods Pro that produced crackling or static noise.
