GSC Game World has published a statement regarding the technical status of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The studio promises timely fixes and a roadmap.
After yesterday's release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, users encountered numerous issues. Some specialized websites even postponed their own reviews of the game. The developers revealed when to expect fixes and plans for new content.
The developers are excited about the game's launch — it’s "totally wild, just like the entire development history." GSC emphasizes that this is "our biggest game, our own story, and our love letter to Ukraine."
“Nevertheless, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is a massive game. We understand that in such a game there are still ‘sharp edges’: we’ve truly never released anything of this scale. We aim to be present, monitor your feedback, and quickly address any issues that require our attention. In the days following the release, we will be working on hotfixes, deploying them as accurately and as frequently as possible. Then we will move on to larger updates that contain significant improvements. There will also be free game content — we will share the roadmap later in December. We have big plans for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe. This is both a return and the beginning of a great new journey.”
Therefore, we can expect quick updates soon, and in December GSC will announce new content and possibly large technical changes in the game. It’s worth noting that the developers previously stated that not all technologies and gameplay elements would be implemented at the launch of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
