Porsche has updated its first electric car Taycan. After the facelift, the car not only transformed externally, but also improved battery capacity, dynamics, and fast charging capabilities.
The new Porsche Taycan 2025 is offered in two body styles: a sports sedan and a Cross Turismo wagon. Each version is available with four transmission options, as well as rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. The sedan's price ranges from $101395 to $210995, with sales of this version starting this fall. The Cross Turismo model will go on sale later this fall, starting at $113095 and reaching $213695.
The 2023 Taycan was available with two battery options: 79 kWh and 93 kWh. For the 2025 model, Porsche now also offers a 105 kWh battery as part of the Performance Battery Plus package. Porsche claims that the 2025 Taycan will become one of the fastest charging electric vehicles on the road ─ from zero to 80% energy restored in just 18 minutes. The new Taycan can charge from DC stations with a voltage of 800V and power up to 320 kW. The new high-performance battery can sustain a higher charging speed for longer than before.
Overall, the new Taycan will be more efficient than previous models due to a number of factors:
- New improved transmission with a new rear engine, which is 80 kW more powerful than its predecessor
- Modified impulse inverter with optimized software
- More powerful batteries
- Revised thermal management system
- Next-generation heat pump
- Revised recuperation and all-wheel drive strategy
Porsche says that the maximum recuperation power when braking from high speeds has increased by more than 30% ─ from 290 to 400 kW. In addition, all versions of the updated Taycan will come standard with specially designed aerodynamically optimized 21-inch wheels and low rolling resistance tires.
All these improvements and optimizations have reduced the Taycan's acceleration time from zero to 60 mph:
- Rear-wheel-drive version ─ 4.5 seconds (0.6 seconds better than before)
- New Taycan Turbo S sedan ─ 2.3 seconds (0.3 seconds better than before). This makes it "the fastest series production car Porsche has ever offered."
Now the new Taycan Turbo S receives an additional 140 kW when using the launch control mode. This increases the power of the flagship model's drive system to 700 kW or 938 hp. Porsche also offers a "Push-to-Pass" button, which, when pressed, provides a power boost of 70 kW (94 hp) for 10 seconds.
Currently, Porsche does not publish any official range data, although the company recently conducted tests in Southern California with some media outlets, during which one prototype traveled an impressive 364 miles (587 km) on a single charge.
As for the design, the 2025 Taycan features new headlights and taillights, as well as new front fenders. Inside, you can find new polished aluminum door sill trims. The interior finish is offered in high-quality microfiber material called Race-Tex.
The new Taycan is already available for order in Ukraine. The approximate cost in the Porsche dealership network starts from 3,798,480 UAH. The sports car will appear in Ukraine this spring.
