Tesla hosted the We, Robot event, during which it unveiled several new futuristic vehicles. The highlight of the show (besides Elon Musk himself) was a robotaxi named Cybercab. The final name is still somewhat unclear, as Musk used both "Cybercab" and "Robotaxi" during the presentation.

Despite the actual reveal of the vehicle, there are actually few details available. The company’s website features a page with limited information, so we have to rely solely on what was said and seen at the event.

The Cybercab is a 2-seater vehicle with butterfly doors. Notably, it lacks traditional controls—there's no steering wheel or pedals. There are no dashboards, gear levers, or joystick; only a massive display is available on the dashboard.

The vehicle also lacks a rear window. Most, if not all, of the displayed prototypes had a gold coating. Musk mentioned that Tesla had 20 Cybercabs at the event.

When the vehicle was driving at the event, it seemed to feature matrix headlights integrated into a front light panel, similar to the Tesla Cybertruck. It appears that the car has a large trunk.

The Cybercab will be the first Tesla vehicle equipped as standard with wireless inductive charging. This feature could be useful for autonomous vehicles, as it allows the car to charge itself without needing to be plugged into a socket.

Tesla showed a short video demonstrating that the automated system can clean the vehicle.

Tesla did not disclose most specifications of the new vehicle. There were no reports on the electric vehicle's range. However, Musk mentioned an estimated operational cost of $0.20 per mile (about $0.125 per kilometer), which sounds ambitious.

Elon Musk also noted that consumers will be able to purchase the Cybercab. This vehicle will not only be part of Tesla's autonomous fleet, the Tesla Network, which Musk has been discussing for years. He stated that Tesla aims to sell the Robotaxi/Cybercab for under $30,000. Production is set to begin in 2026, but Musk admitted he often misjudges his timelines, and the vehicle might appear in 2027.
