The company Human Mobile Devices (HMD) and designer Sinead Gorey from London Fashion Week have launched the Phonecore accessory collection to mark the start of sales of the original repairable smartphone HMD Pulse Pro. The Phonecore collection includes large phone-shaped glasses, a micro-backpack for a smartphone, and a gadget holder belt.
Phonecore is a highly limited collection of fresh fashion design by Sinead Gorey. The designer was inspired to create this collection by the HMD Pulse Pro smartphone in Glacier Green color. The goal of the collection is to accompany, emphasize, and complement the smartphone in the world of fashion.
"Thanks to the fact that HMD Pulse Pro became the muse for my design, our Phonecore collection perfectly demonstrates the combination of technology and fashion. Each accessory can boast a feeling of a space-age future from the 70s, with echoes of art deco and modern technologies at its core. For me, it is obvious that the intersection of fashion and technology will lead to new innovations in the industry, and wearable accessories will become a trend," says fashion designer Sinead Gorey.
The collection also serves as a timely symbol of the importance of smartphones in people's everyday fashionable lives. A new HMD study showed that 54% of those born in the 2000s generation see their smartphones as more than just a functional device, also calling them a fashion item. Additionally, one in four said they bought a phone because it matches their personal style.
The HMD x Sinead Gorey Phonecore collection includes:
- Phonecore "Screen Shadows". These unusual sunglasses have an elongated vertical frame that precisely follows the shape of a smartphone. At the same time, black lenses simulate a mobile device screen.
"The silhouette of two smartphones in front of your eyes is an unmatched vibe," the HMD press service says.
- Phonecore "Mobile Backpack". This 3D-printed mini backpack is designed specifically for storing a smartphone. It is based on the popular mini-bag trend, but in this case, the smartphone takes "first place". The backpack is designed so that the HMD Pulse Pro smartphone is held in a vertical position, allowing owners to take quick hands-free selfies on the go.
- Phonecore "Belt". This modernized belt features a smartphone as its hero. The belt, in the style of a tool kit, has a phone case.
Accessories from the HMD x Sinead Gorey Phonecore collection can be combined with a wide variety of clothing and other fashion elements, but the colored design of the collection pieces fits particularly well with the aesthetics of normcore 2.0 and monochromatic clothing.
A study commissioned to support the launch of the smartphone revealed a number of interesting statistical data, primarily related to the cost of smartphones. Considering that many mobile phones, for example in the UK, now cost over 1000 pounds sterling (almost 50,000 UAH), half of the representatives of the 2000s generation admitted that they gave up small luxuries, such as restaurant meals or evenings with friends, to purchase such a phone. At the same time, 15% of those surveyed said they even sacrificed bigger things, such as vacations or making a down payment on a house, to acquire the desired mobile phone. On the other hand, 53% of respondents stated that they would never spend 1000 pounds sterling on a phone.
