By 2026, Skoda plans to release six electric vehicles, with the most affordable model being the Epiq. It is planned to be released next year with a target starting price of €25,000.
Skoda Epiq is positioned as a "small but epic" entry-level electric car. It will be one of the first models based on the new Modern Solid design language. At a length of approximately 4.1 meters, it can be seen as an electric alternative to the Kamiq. However, the subcompact Skoda Epiq is based on a separate electric platform, likely the MEB Entry, which Volkswagen Group recently announced and has already used to create the ID.2all concept. However, VW uses the platform for a hatchback, while Skoda is preparing this crossover.
Despite being shorter than the Kamiq, the Epiq is much more practical. The trunk volume is 490 liters — over 20% higher thanks to the features of the electric car layout. Skoda has not yet disclosed all the car's specifications. However, it is known that the battery should provide a range of over 400 km. The MEB Entry platform is intended for front-wheel-drive electric vehicles.
The Epiq has plastic body cladding near the wheel arches and unpainted sections of the rear bumpers. A pair of roof rails can be seen on the roof. Also visible are illuminated badges and slim headlights at the front and rear. A discontinuous light strip can be seen between the front lights, which passes through a wide radiator grille. It appears that the Epiq more closely resembles an almost production-ready prototype. Skoda calls it a design study rather than a concept.
