Samsung has officially unveiled the new Galaxy M55s smartphone. The back panel of the device features three different textures, a unique characteristic that no other Samsung mobile device currently boasts.
However, in terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy M55s is identical to the Galaxy M55 model released in March of this year. The device sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and comes with 8 GB of RAM. Internal storage is available in configurations of 128 GB and 256 GB, with a microSD card slot also provided.
On the back panel of the Samsung Galaxy M55s is a triple camera setup. This includes a main 50-megapixel module with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide module, and a 2-megapixel macro module. A 50-megapixel front camera is housed in a circular cutout on the display.
The smartphone is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the display. The device measures 163.9×76.5×7.8 mm and weighs 180 g. It runs on Android 14 with Samsung's One UI 6.1 interface. Thus, in terms of specifications, the new Galaxy M55s does not differ from its predecessor, the Galaxy M55, with the only distinction being the design of the back panel.
The Samsung Galaxy M55s will go on sale starting September 26, with prices set at $240 for the 128 GB storage model and $275 for the 256 GB variant. Available color options include Thunder Black and Coral Green.
