Rabbit is planning to release the first series of its AI-powered pocket companions next month at a price of $200.

As noted by TechCrunch, the R1 device will also be able to support voice commands - thanks to Rabbit's partnership with ElevenLabs (a company that has become very popular in the field of AI voice cloning). Initially, the option will only be available in English with one voice variation.

“We are working with Rabbit to bring the future of human-device interaction closer. Our collaboration aims to make R1 a truly dynamic companion,” said ElevenLabs CEO Mati Stanishevski.

In January, Rabbit announced that R1 will use the artificial intelligence Perplexity AI to answer user questions, translate texts, place online orders, or play music.

Earlier this year, ElevenLabs raised $80 million in a Series B round from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman, and entrepreneur Daniel Gross, and earned “unicorn” status. The company focuses on providing voice cloning services for creating audiobooks, dubbing films, TV shows, and advertisements, as well as voicing characters in video games.

At the same time, the startup faced criticism for some users using the technology to deceive bank authentication systems or to create fake voices of celebrities saying offensive things, declaring wars, or quoting Hitler.
