HMD has picked up the idea of releasing "boring" phones with limited social capabilities, which was recently proposed by Heineken and Bodega. But while back then it was about a limited gift clamshell phone, The Boring Phone, now HMD has several offerings for the mass retail market.
The company introduced simple phones Nokia 215 4G, Nokia 225 4G and Nokia 235 4G, which it positions as "fun". Despite changing the name from "boring" to "fun", the overall concept has hardly changed. These phones are intended to be the perfect companion for digital detox during leisure time - offering to "switch to digital detox". At the same time, in Africa, India, the Middle East, and some countries in the Asia-Pacific region, these phones will have cloud applications that will provide access to smart features, including news, weather, and YouTube Shorts.
The novelties are pocket button phones with adaptive functionality.
"Some people may use the phone to disconnect and tune into the present moment. Others will do the opposite - they will 'hang in the cloud' and use it to connect to the Internet for business, education, and entertainment," says HMD's head of research, propositions and product marketing Adam Ferguson.
Nokia 225 4G offers a 2.4-inch LCD display, a 0.3-megapixel camera with flash, and a Bluetooth module. The 1450 mAh battery provides up to 9.8 hours of talk time. This model will be available in dark blue. Nokia 235 4G offers all the same features as Nokia 225 4G, but users have access to a slightly larger 2.8-inch screen and a 2-megapixel rear camera. This model will be available in two colors: purple and black. Nokia 215 4G is a multifunctional phone with a durable body. It is available in peach and black colors. All three devices have the "Snake" game.
The new mobile phones Nokia 215 4G, Nokia 225 4G and Nokia 235 4G will go on sale in Ukraine in May.
