Disappointed customers complain on Reddit that the Apple headset, despite many other entertainment options, does not allow watching porn in virtual reality.
You can still view porn sites in the standard "flat" form, but this is definitely not what some users expected, paying $3500 for a life in the virtual reality world.
"Has anyone watched porn on Vision Pro? Really want this to work. If someone has succeeded, tell me how to do it," wrote a user on the r/oculusnsfw subreddit (via Gizmodo) on the day of the Apple headset release.
In the comments, Vision Pro has already been dubbed the "$3500 chastity belt."
Oculus NSFW - the largest VR porn subreddit has been inundated with threads from Apple headset buyers titled: "No porn?", "We, WebXR people, want porn" and "So uh... where's all the 3D porn?".
In the US stores, Vision Pro has been available since February 2nd - for $3500 and an additional fee for prescription lenses. On the day of the launch, Apple CEO Tim Cook explained the high price of the headset as being a "technology of the future."
Currently, the Vision Pro store has millions of programs and games, with over 99% likely being unmodified versions for iPad, and only 600 specifically created for the headset. Netflix and YouTube have not provided separate apps, but the latter's content can be viewed through the alternative Juno app.
