Motorola has unveiled its new Edge 50 Neo smartphone and announced the commencement of global sales for the Edge 50 model.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo is a compact device featuring IP68 water and dust resistance, alongside military-grade certification (MIL-STD 810H). With dimensions of 154.1 x 71.2 x 8.1 mm and a weight of 171 g, it can indeed be considered relatively compact by today's standards. The device sports a 6.4-inch OLED LTPO display with a FHD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits. The display is safeguarded by Gorilla Glass 3.
Equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo offers options of 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and 256 or 512 GB of internal storage. The battery capacity stands at 4310 mAh. It supports 68 W TurboPower fast charging as well as 15 W wireless charging. The package includes a 68 W charger and a matching protective case.
The smartphone features a triple-camera setup on the rear. This includes a main 50-megapixel module based on a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with OIS, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide module with autofocus, and a 10-megapixel telephoto module offering 3x optical zoom and OIS. The front camera is a 32-megapixel unit with fixed focus. Motorola employs its proprietary image processing engine, moto ai, which processes uncompressed data across all cameras to produce optimal images. Additionally, moto ai enhances video quality.
The new Motorola Edge 50 Neo has already launched in several European countries, starting at a price of €499. The device is available in four colors, featuring a soft-textured vegan leather back.
At the same time, global sales for the rugged Motorola Edge 50 have begun. It also boasts IP68 protection and MIL-STD 810H certification. However, this device is larger, coming with a 6.67-inch OLED display and a 5000 mAh battery. It features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition processor. The memory and camera configurations are the same as those found in the Edge 50 Neo. The price for the Motorola Edge 50 starts at €599.
