The Capcom live stream at the Tokyo Game Show confirmed that the large monkey Kongalala is making a comeback in Monster Hunter Wilds.
The monster first debuted in Monster Hunter 2 back in 2006 and was met with fan admiration. Kongalala is known for its love of mushrooms and for releasing a massive cloud of toxic gas due to flatulence, which serves as a powerful weapon. The most hardcore variants of Kongalala produce gases so potent that they are officially classified as "dragon force wind."
Fans of the community were thrilled by the monster's return. In addition to its powerful attacks, the monkey brings an important element of fun to the game with its hippo-like traits and claws that are anyone's guess. Because, as everyone knows, farting is funny.
Fans are already beginning to eye the monkey as a battle opponent. Some speculate that Kongalala's large backside might become a special target for the new game feature—focusing on monster weak points for strikes.
Monster Hunter Wilds has been labeled one of the best new games of the year, despite its release being scheduled for February. The game boasts new mechanics, with ZS Gamer noting as many as eleven. However, it may disappoint owners of older graphics cards with its system requirements. On the minimum-required NVIDIA GTX 1660 Super or AMD RX 5600 XT graphics cards, the game will only run at 720p|30fps with scaling to 1080p at the lowest settings. Recommended cards include the RTX 2070 Super, RTX 4060, or RX 6700 XT—these configurations will achieve true 1080p|60fps on medium settings.
