Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, in his latest newsletter Power On, talked about some innovations that Apple is preparing for the future iOS 18 operating system.
According to Gurman, among the new features of iOS 18 will be emojis created by artificial intelligence. Apple will showcase this new feature at the WWDC event next month. If someone finds the existing emoji library insufficient, Gurman writes that the company "is developing software that can create custom emojis on the fly based on what users write."
It is also reported that Apple intends to introduce additional customization options for applications and the home screen on the iPhone. This includes the ability to change the color of app icons and arrange elements more freely, rather than being locked into a preset grid layout. This will allow users to be more creative in customizing the look of their main screen. Of course, these are still rumors, so they should be approached with caution.
On the eve of the annual developers conference, which will begin on June 10, there has been much talk about Apple's plans regarding artificial intelligence. But instead of debuting with something too massive and flashy, Gurman suggests that Apple will stick to the practical application of this technology. It is expected that Apple will announce a partnership with OpenAI, which could give AI a boost in things like Safari search, Siri, photo retouching, and voice reminder transcription. The company may also introduce intelligent summaries for notifications, web pages, and the like.
