The first story expansion for the space RPG Starfield, titled "Shattered Space," was released a year after the main game, but player reactions have been mixed.

The expansion went on sale yesterday and has already received a significant number of reviews on the Steam platform. Currently, only 41% of the 929 reviews are positive, placing it in the "mixed reviews" category by Steam's standards.

Critics have primarily targeted the limited content and short length of the expansion's main storyline. Many players note that they were able to complete the main story in just a few hours (5-6), raising concerns given the $30 price tag (760₴ in Ukraine).

Users have also expressed dissatisfaction with the "recolored" weapons and gear, as well as the limited exploration areas. Some compare Shattered Space unfavorably to previous expansions from Bethesda, stating: "Less content than any DLC for Skyrim."

Despite the predominantly negative feedback, the overall tone of the reviews remains somewhat restrained. One user noted in a critical review, "It's not bad, just incredibly mediocre." Many players describe the expansion as "more Starfield," which could be seen as both an advantage and a disadvantage depending on one's feelings towards the original game.

It is worth mentioning that the base version of Starfield also has "mixed" reviews on Steam, though it boasts a slightly higher percentage of positive reviews (59%).
