GTA 6, one of the most anticipated games in history, millions of players around the world are eagerly awaiting any information about it. According to the Kotaku website, the game may be postponed to 2026, and Rockstar Games company requires remote workers to return to the office to speed up the work.
The game was officially announced in December 2023. More than ten years after the release of GTA V, Rockstar is working on a sequel set in Vice City, a fictional district of Miami. The game is expected to be released on PS5 and Xbox Series in 2025. Unofficially known that the goal now is the beginning of 2025. However, it is becoming increasingly likely that GTA 6 may only be released by the end of 2025. It is also possible that the launch will be postponed until 2026, as production is falling behind schedule.
In February, it became known that Rockstar Games requires its employees to return to work five days a week in the office starting in April. The news of the sudden changes caught many by surprise and led to disappointment among the staff, some of whom were hired remotely.
Sources report that the development of GTA 6 is lagging behind. This worries Rockstar's management that the game will miss 2025 and be released in 2026. For now, a launch in the fall of 2025 seems more plausible to the sources of the website. Delaying the game until 2026 is seen as a contingency plan, an "extreme" option. One Rockstar Games employee shared concerns that after improvements in recent years, the company may once again face a development crisis.
